Aerial view of the Hill Inlet and whitehaven beach on Whitsunday Island in the Whitsundays (Queensland - Australia). Hill Inlet is a famous inlet located at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach. The white sand and blue hues of the inlet blend to create this amazing view. Whitehaven Beach is known for its very fine bright white sands, consisting of 98% pure silica which does not retain heat. The Whitsunday islands are a popular destination for travellers to Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef with the area being one of the most popular yachting destinations in the Southern Hemisphere.

Thank you very much Tom! If you plan to visit Queensland during your next trip to Australia, you might consider spending a few days in the Whitsundays and maybe you'll be the one anchoring a boat at Hill Inlet, leaving footprints in the incredibly fine sand of Whitehaven beach ;).

Thank you very much!! This is the exact same area of Whitsunday island as in the picture you saw previously, just a bit higher in the sky. Here you clearly see the end of Whitehaven beach. I never saw sans structures such as these anywhere else.
