Aerial view of Bora Bora, the lagoon, the motus (islets situated on top of the barrier reef) and the main island with Otemanu mountain (727m — 2,385 feet — high) in its center. Bora Bora is part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia and is also referred to as the pearl of the Pacific Ocean.
Bora Bora is an island group in the Leeward Islands, in the western part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia. Bora Bor's main island, located about 230 kilometres (143 miles) northwest of Tahiti, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano, rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu.
Bora Bora is famous for its seaside (and even offshore) luxury resorts. The island's economy is driven almost entirely by tourism. Several resorts have been built on the motu surrounding the lagoon. Over-water bungalows are a standard feature of most Bora Bora resorts. Snorkeling and scuba diving in and around Bora Bora’s lagoon are popular activities. Many species of sharks and rays inhabit the surrounding waters. Produce of the island is mostly from the sea and from the plentiful coconut trees, which were historically of economic importance for the production of copra.

Thanks a lot Tina! I love aerial photography and, although it is becoming more and more difficult to justify the costs, I could not leave Bora Bora without a few aerial shots of the island and the lagoon ;).
