Maupiti island, in French Polynesia : view from Mount Teurafaatiu (elevation 1,250 ft. / 381 m), the highest point of the island. The image shows the lush vegetation, the lagoon with beautiful coral formations, and the only pass at the southern end of the coral reef connecting the lagoon to the ocean. Maupiti island, located to the west of the archipelago of the Society Islands, is part of the Leeward Islands (literally "Islands Under-the-Wind") which also include Tupai atoll, Bora Bora, Raiatea, Taha'a, Huahine, Manuae, Maupihaa and Motu One. Maupiti's main settlement is Vaiea.

Thank you Jan! The hike to the summit cannot be considered strenuous with only 381m of elevation but when the weather gets hot, walking trough this lush vegetation can be quite unpleasant. The 360° view from the top makes you forget the small inconveniences ;).
