Description
Thailand - Nui beach is a splendid secluded little cove, with clear turquoise waters surrounded by limestone cliffs, located on the the northwest coast of Koh Phi Phi Don island. This very small beach is accessed by long tail boats. It is totally undeveloped. Nui Beach offers outstanding snorkelling and faces one of Phi Phi’s natural landmarks: Camel Rock (seen in the background of this image).
Koh Phi Phi (Phi Phi Islands) are an island group in Thailand between the large island of Phuket and the Straits of Malacca coast of Thailand. The islands are administratively part of Krabi Province. Koh Phi Phi Don is the largest and most populated island of the group. Phi Phi Don is 9.73 square kilometres (3.76 square miles): 8 kilometres (5.0 miles) in length and 3.5 kilometres (2.2 miles) wide. There are six islands in the group known as Phi Phi. They lie 40 kilometres (25 miles) southeast of Phuket and are part of Hat Nopparat Thara - Koh Phi Phi National Park, which is home to an abundance of corals and marine life. There are limestone mountains with cliffs, caves, and long white sandy beaches.
The long-tail boat is a type of watercraft native to Southeast Asia, designed to carry passengers, which uses a second-hand car or truck engine as a readily available and maintainable powerplant. Long-tail boats are often used to transport tourists. There are also competitions involving long-tail boats in some provinces of Thailand.
