Description
Willet - Tringa semipalmata
The willet (Tringa semipalmata) is a shorebird in the family Scolopacidae. It is a relatively large and robust sandpiper, and is the largest of the species called "shanks" in the genus Tringa. The plumage is gray above with a white rump, and white below with a distinct white area above the lores and a narrow whitish eye ring giving the bird a spectacled appearance. The underparts are white. This willet was photographed on Isla Holbox in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, located on the north coast of the Yucatán Peninsula

Really nice shot; love the soft tones and low depth of field -- puts so much focus on that bird!

Thank you William! Holbox is a great place for birding… and for all sorts of wildlife actually.
